The company first launched Miles with Auto-Interleasing AG in Switzerland in 2005 and has just seen the latest series of system implementations go live in Italy, France and Belgium with major leasing company customers, both independents and captives.
There are another 11 implementation projects currently ongoing with automotive clients in Europe, Australia, Japan and Thailand. To support its impressive global expansion path, the company is continuously looking for new talent from within the automotive finance sector with an affinity for IT, with Sofico’s 200th employee recently hired.
At the same time, the Miles platform has evolved from both a technical and a functional point of view, due to ongoing investment from the company into product innovation and development.
The scope of Miles has broadened from leasing and fleet management, in response to a changing corporate automotive market, to now include retail and mobility management.
These latest developments make Miles the first hybrid fleet/retail contract management software system that is able to meet the needs of captives and leasing companies, in a market where the traditional boundaries between retail and fleet are blurring.
One reason behind its phenomenal success rate is the solid implementation methodology used to implement Miles. Based on the experience gained from the numerous implementation projects over the last 11 years, Sofico has honed and refined its implementation process to establish a custom methodology, tailored to the implementation of Miles. This allows Sofico’s experts to reduce the overall implementation time frame.
The company recently announced that its turnover has grown by 125% in the last five years while the number of people it employs has increased by more than 80% over the same period.
At the same time, the Ghent, Belgium-based business revealed that it has had its Investors in People certification renewed, confirming the success of the restructuring process it has been going through over the last two years.
Gémar Hompes, Sofico Managing Director, said: “Obviously, we are delighted to hit some of these latest milestones in our ongoing development.
“We believe Miles offers a unique proposition as a hybrid fleet and retail management system, perfected to meet the needs of our customers and their own customers’ expectations as the automotive market continues to grow and develop.
“We’re working hard to attract talented people to strengthen our teams in Belgium, France, Japan and Australia and help us to continue our current success.”
